Luxury Timepieces & Bush Tucker Bites - Inside the Bremont Terra Nova Bronze Launch (Plus, Wedding Photography Tips!)

March 7th, 2025

As a wedding photographer (you can see some of my work here), I'm always on the lookout for inspiration – beautiful light, stunning settings, and unique details that tell a story. So, when I was fortunate enough to attend the launch of Bremont's new Aqua Terra Nova Bronze watch, I knew I was in for a treat. And let me tell you, it exceeded all expectations, offering a feast for the eyes (and the stomach!) and even sparking some fresh ideas for couples planning their big day!

Tip for taking photos of 'the details' (for wedding or otherwise): get up close and capture those textures - check out the photos of those oysters!

The Journey - Arriving in Style with the Lexus GX550

Before we even get to the watches and the incredible food, I have to mention the journey! We were incredibly fortunate to be loaned the brand-new Lexus GX550 from Lexus of Newcastle. This luxurious SUV made the trip from Newcastle an absolute pleasure. The GX550 is a beast – powerful, comfortable, and packed with features that made the drive effortless. It perfectly matched the sophisticated vibe of the event, and turning up in such a stylish vehicle definitely set the tone for the exclusive event.

The event itself was held in a beautifully styled venue Bush River Kitchen perfectly complementing the rugged elegance of the watches. There were plenty of Bremont timepieces on display, showcasing the brand's commitment to quality and detail. It was a fantastic opportunity to see these incredible pieces up close and appreciate the craftsmanship involved. The staff were on hand and were so knowledgeable.

Adding to the insightful atmosphere, Rowena from Bremont shared the brand's rich history and the inspiration behind the Aqua Terra Nova Bronze. Her passion for the brand was evident and it was fascinating to learn about the dedication and precision that goes into each watch.

John Ralley of Bush River Kitchen shared his passion for food and the Bremont brand.

A Culinary Journey Through the Australian Bush

What truly set this event apart was the food. Forget your standard canapés – this was a culinary adventure! The theme was clearly "bougie and bush" - a brilliant fusion of luxury and native Australian ingredients. The menu was a masterpiece, showcasing the best of what this land has to offer.

Here's a taste of what we enjoyed:

  • The Bread - Let's start with the basics, but elevated to an art form. The rye sourdough with stout butter was unbelievably soft and creamy. Seriously, I could have eaten an entire loaf... I had *four* slices and it tied for second place as my favourite food of the day!
  • Seafood Delights - Organic oysters and succulent fried Hawkesbury River prawns were delicious. But my favourite snack of the day was a delicate smoked European carp rillette with potato scallop, trout roe and dill. The freshness and quality were undeniable.
  • Land & Game - Venison tartare tart (a flavour explosion!) and the pièce de résistance - a hung and smoked Wagyu tomahawk, cooked to absolute perfection.
  • Sides That Shone - Even the sides were stars. The organic local oxheart tomatoes and stracciatella salad was my second favourite dish of the day – so simple, yet bursting with flavour. The woodfired pumpkin was another highlight.
  • Sweet Endings - Two incredible desserts featuring burnt sugar - a mountain yuzu tart with burnt meringue and a strawberry gum crème brûlée. The perfect balance of sweet and tart.

Tips for wedding and event photographers

  • Use symmetry where possible - check out the birds eye view of the tomahawk and the photos of the table set ups
  • Use the grid on your phone or camera - it helps you to frame and have the negative space! Check out the tomahawk photo once again
  • Use the rule of thirds sparingly and with variety - the rule of thirds is lining the subject up on a grid line or intersection. There are a variety of ways to apply it
